On the day the cherry tree blossomed
Rumi and Dylan were born
My sister was here
It was shorts and tank top weather
We watched the goat mama push her kid with confidence
Licking his silky body dry
He sang his sweet song announcing, I’m here, Mom
Fluffy white sister watched with anticipation
To see the brother she knew so well
In the womb
Brought into the light of an afternoon sun
Innocence of being born on fresh hay
Knowing exactly where to find the milk
Simply stunning
We watch in awe as sisters born of the same mother 30 years ago
Welcome to this world, little one
We call you Rumi & Dylan
For the poets of truth and song
